DEFENDING NATURAL AND CULTURAL HERITAGE
Many of the plants and facilities of the Nuova Sesac group, the group that Gracomsa Alimentaria belong to, are located in towns near La Albufera in Valencia, a unique wetland in Europe, a privilege that Gracomsa is deeply grateful for, and has committed to its sustainability. This is why, through the Nuova Sesac group, we actively collaborate with the Assut Foundation, an organisation dedicated to defending the landscape, the natural and cultural heritage of La Albufera.
Thanks to the Cerca de la Fundació which we contribute with, it hopes to bring locals and visitors of L’Albufera and La Huerta de Valencia closer to its nature, culture and landscape. The purpose is to advertise this unique and threatened location and create awareness about the need to protect it.
All types of tours and trips are organised through the programme, mainly addressing the different themes that are raised by this multi-faceted location: water, biodiversity, nature, the different environments and ecosystems, the landscape, customs and traditions, human uses, history, architecture, etc. Annually some 30,000 visitors pass through these enclaves, including schools and families.
This project has been recognised at the national level by various entities such as the Spanish Social Enterprise Awards in the Environment and CSR categories, awarded by the Mundo Ciudad Foundation.
Our aim is to continue collaborating with this and other entities that help to educate and raise awareness of the importance of preserving the environment, as well as the improvement of human rights all over the world.
